The Oman Credit and Financial Information Center (Mala’a) actively participated in the Real Estate Conference 2024, a three-day event organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. Held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center from April 29th to May 1st, Mala’a showcased its offerings through a dedicated booth, providing insights into credit reports, credit scores, and other services like Murshid (the Instant Decision Module) and (Huwiya) Know Your Customer service to visitors.
Additionally, Mala’a contributed by presenting a white paper outlining its operations and emphasizing its significance across various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman. The center also joined a panel discussion focusing on the real estate sector in the Sultanate, particularly highlighting the role of credit information in assessing credit risks associated with real estate investments.
As the largest repository of financial and credit information in the Sultanate, Mala’a boasts membership from all financial and credit institutions, including those from the banking, financial, and telecommunications sectors, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises funds. Moreover, it integrates seamlessly with government records such as those from the Royal Oman Police and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion. By providing comprehensive credit reports, Mala’a supports lenders in their credit risk assessment processes, thereby fostering responsible lending practices.
